Great Leaders are Great Storytellers
Whether you are in sales, fund raising, or leadership, stories are critical in leading your audience in the direction you desire. As human beings we would like to think we are logical thinkers and can critically analyze a choice for the best decision. The truth is that we are emotional creatures who make irrational, emotional decisions and justify them with the rational side of our brain. The use of storytelling allows those we are leading or selling to connect with us (or our point) emotionally while being able to use logic later. Storytelling isn’t just for the few who have the gift of weaving mesmerizing stories, it is for anyone who has a desire to guide others through emotional journeys and then arrive at logical conclusions.
