Team Building – Analyze Your Team Members
Analyzing a team has nothing to do with putting feet up on a couch. It has to do with understanding what needs to happen to achieve the team’s goals and selecting people with the strengths to make that happen. Sounds logical, right? Yet more managers than not are selecting people because they ‘like’ them, they have a resume indicating the needed experience, and they have a seat to fill fast. The wise manager, however, will take the time to get clear on their individual strengths and weaknesses as well as those of current team members. They will then set out to find the strengths needed in a new candidate that will contribute to team success. Analyzing team members isn’t difficult but it does take some time, and it is time that great managers are more than happy to invest. Tune into this podcast if you want to begin building great teams.
