Is It Just What You Say? ‘I’m So Busy!’
There are certain expressions that can become the next ‘go to’ response when we are asked the age-old question, “What’s new?” Often, with a sigh of exasperation we hear ourselves saying, “Oh, just busy.” How busy can all of us really be and what are people actually hearing when we say it? That we aren’t very organized? That we can’t handle our responsibilities? That we don’t have time for them? As a leader, it’s time to begin thinking about how seemingly flippant responses we aren’t giving that much thought to can be undermining our reputation and success.
