Nurture Understanding

It’s safe to assume that every one of us has said something that was misunderstood.  When those misunderstandings occur, if we would take the time to clarify and reach understanding we would be sustaining peace and avoiding conflict.

Resolve Conflict

If you want to resolve conflict, you can.  Simply make up your mind to create an atmosphere of peace and cooperation and you’re half way there.

Set the Tone

When you are the manager and leader of a team set the tone and take control of the atmosphere in the workplace.  Historically, being pleasant to be around hasn’t been a key contributor to conflict – just sayin’.

Be Aware

Often it’s not what you say but how you say it (or don’t say it) that is the instigator of conflict.  You are a leader.  Be aware of your body language and tone of voice in the workplace.
